Stephen Hawking HUman Spirit

Stephen Hawking and the Power of the Inner Spirit

Quite often we hear about the unlimited potential of our inner force, inner self, our inner spirit. Why is it so powerful?

All of us have something inside us, some inner force, inner power that is guiding and protecting us, giving energy and inner resources to keep going, not giving up and embracing challenges. Human spirit is “our essence, our inner core”. It empowers us to see the meaning in life even in the most difficult situations, making us stronger than we were.

Our spirit, mind and body are interconnected, and the human spirit is considered as “the highest component”, “the core of a person’s being”.  We have an incredible power inside us, and it is for us to discover it, feel and sense it, and use the whole potential of our inner self.

Remember the moments when we may have failed or been in despair seeing no way out. But then something inside us told us that it was not a failure, it was a lesson, and there would be another chance. Our inner encouraging voice gave us strength, energy and motivation to stand up, raise above this challenge and try again. Something inside us helped us go through this situation and grow. Grow with dignity and courage. Grow despite challenges and obstacles. Grow in any life situation. It is our inner force, our inner spirit that does not let us give up. And if we ever fall, it is showing us the way up.

“There is something in the human spirit that will survive and prevail, there is a tiny and brilliant light burning in the heart of man that will not go out no matter how dark the world becomes” – Leo Tolstoi

Our human spirit is our core of health, and it can make us incredibly strong and resilient even when we are about to lose hope.

Let us remember Stephen Hawking, an English famous scientist, a genius who dedicated his life to unlocking the secrets of the Universe. At the age of 21 he was diagnosed with a form of motor neuron disease that gradually paralyzed him over the decades. Most patients with this condition die within five years, and average life expectancy after diagnosis is fourteen months. Stephen Hawking stunned doctors by living with the normally fatal illness for more than 50 years.

Stephen Hawking was fighting the disease in order to discover, create and share with people something invaluable and unique – his vision, his theories, his self-discoveries and his truth. Stephen Hawking saw a big mission in front of him, and he never stopped exploring and discovering. After discovering that black holes could emit radiation, he later discovered that black holes even explode in a fountain of high-energy sparks. After he became Professor of gravitational physics at Cambridge in 1977 and was awarded a CBE by the Queen in 1982, he continued exploring, discovering and conveying his ideas to the world.

This incredible will and motivation to explore, discover and share with others generated an unbreakable inner power within him. Stephen Hawking’s inner spirit was stronger than his disease. He kept his music even when his violine was broken, he kept his inner light in the time of darkness, he kept believing in himself even when the others doubted. Stephen Hawking raised above an uncurable disease, seeing something meaningful in the circumstances that might seem absolutely desperate. He discovered his inner force, his inner spirit.

“So remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes a universe exist. Be curious. And however difficult life can be, there is always something you can do and succeed at. It matters that you don’t just give up” – Stephen Hawking.
