Weeds in my garden
Since I’ve moved to a new house,
I have a very small garden,
Really small, tiny and cute.
And I enjoy sitting in the sun,
Reading my favourite book,
Hearing the birds singing.
I enjoy doing my tai chi exercises,
Feeling more balanced and focused.
Feeling more in harmony with myself.
Since I’ve moved to my new house,
I fully enjoy sunny and warm weekends,
Seeing happy neighbours sitting outside,
Laughing and having lovely chats in a friends’ circle.
I fully enjoy seeing young families
Heading toward the sea with their babies.
Everything about this place is so peaceful,
So positive and warm, filled with good energy.
It is not perfect or ideal here,
It is simply good.
And this weekend my friend visited me.
We had a lovely chat in my garden,
Having tea and enjoying a beautiful sunny day.
We had our lovely chat for quite a while,
And suddenly my friend told me:“There are weeds in your garden, have you seen it?”
Once I’ve moved to my new house,
I’ve never thought about small weeds in my tiny garden,
Until my friend visited me.
My friend did not only tell me this, but more than this.
He dug all tiny weeds from my tiny garden,
And when I looked at my tiny garden,
It became different.
Too tidy, too perfect and too ideal.
And I started missing my tiny weeds,
That slight imperfection that they’d brought.
Their free spirit and their small touch of wilderness.
I’ve never thought about it before,
I’ve never thought about tiny weeds in my garden.
And after this I realised something important –
We all have tiny weeds in our garden, our home and our heads.
We all have tiny weeds in our mind and body.
We all have tiny weeds in our soul, hidden deeply inside.
And if somebody ever asks me again:
“There are weeds in your garden, have you seen it?”
I know my answer:
“Yes, I have. And I love them.”
